Ford Mustang

The Mustang is manufactured by Ford. The Mustang, a famous model worldwide, has undergone quite some transformations and currently has six generations. The Mustang was born out of an idea and vision that came from Lee Lacocca, who was the general manager and vice president of Ford. He wanted to build a car that would seat four people, have a maximum length of 180 inches, weigh no more than 1250 kilograms and must have a price tag of less than $2500. The 1965 Mustang was Ford’s most successful launch since the Model A, which may have been the result of heavy advertising on major television networks during the latter part of its development.

Buying a Ford Mustang?

Its second generation was introduced in 1973. That same Mr. Lacaocca, became president of Ford in 1970. The second generation Mustang, called “Mustang II” sold about 390.000 cars in the first year. It was available in coupé and hatchback versions, including a "luxury" Ghia model designed by Ford's recently acquired Ghia of Italy.
