The E-type: what an absolute beauty it is. It is a handmade ca rand was initionally presented to the public as a grand tourer in two-seater coupé form. Later changes to the model were incremental and continuous. As a result, there was quite some confusion about what really was the Series 1 car. It is not without a reason, since the Series 1 have values that exceed the later Series 2 and 3 models by far! The Jaguar E-types in the 60’s were available both in Roadster form and Coupé form.
Approaching the 70’s, the Series 2 was introduced with a number of design changes. The biggest change was that the glass headlights covers were removed, due to the US legislation. Other changes were larger front indicators and a downgrade in materials. This was the result of a switch from three carburetors in the Series 1 to two carburetors in the Series 2. Unfortunately this also reduced horsepower from 265 to 246 as well as torque from 283 to 263.
