ABOUT THIS CLASSIC

1964 VW T1 Westfalia SO33 Camper – Factory Original Body-Off Restored VW Museum Certified
There are Volkswagen buses, and then there are factory-built Westfalia SO33 Campers — the rarest, most sought-after original layouts ever produced. Combine that with a body-off restoration, matching numbers and colours, and VW Stiftung Museum certification, and you're looking at a truly exceptional example.
This is more than a collector’s item. It’s a time machine, ready to roll.
Rare SO33 Westfalia – Matching Numbers & Colours
Delivered new in 1964 as a genuine SO33 Westfalia Camper, this bus was never a conversion or DIY project. It left the factory exactly as you see it today — and thanks to meticulous restoration, it’s returned to that original condition in every possible detail.
It retains its matching engine, chassis, and body numbers, as well as its original colour scheme, faithfully refinished with correct materials and finishes.
Every inch of this bus was addressed in a body-off restoration performed by specialists who know and respect the Westfalia legacy.
As Clean Beneath as It Is Above
This T1 is concours-level throughout — no exaggeration.
The chassis and undercarriage are detailed and protected. The body panels are perfectly aligned. The interior cabinetry, specific to the SO33 layout, has been fully rebuilt in its original configuration, using correct woods and patterns.
The upholstery has been redone, preserving the factory-correct style and feel — down to the stitching.
Mechanically, the original 1.5L “H-type” flat-four engine delivers 42 horsepower, running smooth and strong. The gearbox shifts cleanly and the entire drivetrain has been rebuilt for reliability and touring.
Officially Verified by the VW Stiftung Museum
To top it off, the factory originality of this Westfalia — including its SO33 designation — is confirmed and documented by the VW Stiftung Museum. These certificates are rare and prove beyond doubt that this is the real deal.
Built to Travel – or Show
Although the finish is good enough for any concours event, this bus wasn’t restored to sit still. It was restored to move. To travel. To do exactly what it was made for: to explore.
It’s the kind of vehicle you park by a lake with the hatch open, not under a glass dome.
